Hey everyone, just wanted to take a second and touch base as it's been about a month since we last posted a blog entry, yikes! We got so busy getting ready for the studio May 7th with Jack Endino, we haven't had a lot of time to keep you all posted on the latest news. So, here we go! DubSeven Records and SixTwoSeven are proud to announce we have solidified the live line up, and are actively booking shows for the upcoming 2016 Tour to support our EP Release. (If your festival or club has an interest in booking SixTwoSeven please use the contact entry form on the site, or contact DubSeven by phone using the information on the home page - more live video content coming soon). Yeah, it was illfunk playing everything himself on the demo's from our player, and he doesn't want to have do that all by himself when playing live! So.....
On Drums we have Dave Cook - AKA - (DC or Sfinger). Originally from California, Dave still has a rich history of playing music in the Seattle/Kitsap region over the years (Bi-Polar), and his ties to SixTwoSeven and illfunk go back a long ways. We are excited to have all of Dave talents on board, as he is an amazing videographer, artist, and also a bad ass on the sticks. Couldn't be happier about this evolution (even though we just can't seem to agree on the shape of the earth, lol).
On Bass we have, you guessed it, Mike Knapp -AKA - (MK Ultra), from Knapptime Productions fame and Bitter. Makes sense doesn't it? He was the original DubSeven believer and has been lending his producing skills, and all his many otherworldly talents since we took this thing public January 8th. Mike has know illfunk for well over 25 years, so why not have him play the bass right? After all, he has mad skills, he is a creative genius, a great dude, he can sing, and he lives right up the street. Search ended.
Last but certainly not least, we have illfunk's very own big brother - Jason Bilderback - AKA -(Geoffe Transpatrick), all the way from Austin Texas playing Rhythm/Lead Guitars (with his little brother for the first time since Five Hoss Cartwrights), while still maintaining his role as the bass player for the legendary Austin / San Marcos blues-rock trio Drive On Mak. Jason's unusual playing style and high energy live performances ensure your ear drums will be ringing and your head will be spinning after witnessing a live SixTwoSeven set. You think you cant wait? Imagine how we feel ;)
So many cool things going on to keep you informed on. We have been invited to play the Center Cafe Stage at Burning Man 2016, which is very exciting. We are currently working on the logistics of that adventure, as well as Boise Music Festival, and the Indie Music TV and Film Conference in May (Las Vegas). Keep checking in for cool news and free giveaways. Have a copy of "Down and Flames" on us - illfunk
